Then and now <3

On January 25, 2023, Green Sugar Leaf Farms celebrated the grand opening of our first brick and mortar store at the Empire State Plaza in downtown Albany, N.Y. We have been busy serving tea, smoothies, acai bowls and of course elderberry syrup made daily. We are regularly adding more tea blends and herbal products to our shelves and making enormous use of our new commercial kitchen.

It has been more than four years since we developed the concept of our small women owned business. Born out of a desire to live our healthiest and best lives physically, emotionally, and spiritually and to share our knowledge and products with others who desire the same.

Like other small businesses beginning in late 2019 we didn’t incorporate a global pandemic into our business plan, didn’t see it coming and like many other businesses we waited day to day, week to week and month to month for this once in a century storm to clear. We stayed busy during 2020 taking herbal and personal training classes. Building and perfecting herbal recipes to strengthen our immune systems and alleviate common ailments like colds, flu, and achy joints.

In 2021 the outdoor farmer’s markets and special events reopened and we set up our tables with organic herbal mixes for teas and tisanes packaged with a home processing license. By the end of 2021 we had achieved a bottling license from the NYS Department of Agriculture and began wholesale distribution of our liquid elderberry syrup to small grocery stores and produce stands locally in New York’s Capital Region.

Our products continued to grow in demand, we believe in large part because of the pandemic many more people are looking to achieve a healthy lifestyle and avoid not only illnesses but taking pharmaceuticals to alleviate symptoms.

The Green Sugar Leaf Farms store will continue to build its product line, offer certified organic non GMO prepared loose leaf teas, to-go teas, meals and snacks as well as offer herbal certification classes.
